![]() ![]() There is no connection between the two books other than the name. Most likely the title I Moved Your Cheese which is a satirical look at the popular self-help book “Who Moved My Cheese,” draws attention and invites us to give this book a read. It seems that the biggest joke, which I have to give Darrel Bristow-Bovey credit for, is on us who have paid for the book in money and/or time. Of course, humour is subjective, but when you are bombarded with sarcastic facetious wit on every page, which runs off on crazy tangents, it is just bewildering and becomes tedious. Don’t waste any energy, let the deception rule. ![]() ![]() Is it just a satire? Is it reverse psychology? Is it a metaphor with a deep meaning of life, something that when we interpret it correctly is going to bring such clarity to our spiritual, emotional or financial wellbeing? Does it have hidden gems of information? So what is the secret, the lesson, the moon shot? Misdirection! Create an illusion that you are more interesting, more capable, highly sought after or wealthier than you actually are. … Self-help books are damaging to the self-esteem.” The strap-line on the cover says “This is the self-help book for people who want to take no steps at all.” So already I’m confused. The opening lines of the introduction are “This is not another self-help book. ![]()
